2018 Catchers Super Camp


July 31st – Aug. 3rd, 2018 (Tue – Fri)

(Limited to 30 hitters)

Golden Eagle Regional Park, Sparks, NV (MAP)
All baseball catchers age 9-19
Starting at $547 (Day Camp),
up to $797 (Overnight w/ Parents)
“The Whole Enchilada” $1097 (Overnight Staying w/ Players) OPTION FULL

Age divisions: 9-11 (Youth), 12-14 (Juniors), 15 & Up (High School)

Participants will be separated by age and each age division will be training together during the camp.  The Youth Camp participants will be on their own field during training.

TENTATIVE CAMP SCHEDULE:
Day #1 (Tuesday the 31st)
 – Stances and Receiving Technique. (Guest Speaker: CJ Beatty – The Baseball Motivator / Guest Coach: Jaime Garrido – T3 – Arizona)
Day #2 (Wednesday the Aug. 1st) – Blocking Technique (Guest Speaker: Ross Hawley – President of Playced / Guest “Coach:” Andrea Moore – Baseball Yoga)
Day #3 (Thursday the 2nd) – Throwing Fundamentals (Guest Speaker & Coach: Dave Coggin – Founder & President of Performance Fitness for Athletes – PFA)
Day #4 (Friday the 3rd) – Special Plays including bunt plays, force plays, tag plays & pop ups.

WHAT TO BRING AND WEAR TO CAMP:

  • Baseball/Softball appropriate clothing including baseball or softball pants. (shorts are NOT recommended)
  • IMPORTANT: Each Catcher MUST have their own complete set of catchers gear including a protective cup
  • Turf or tennis shoes (we will be on turf fields and inside a turf facility)
  • Water bottle (We will provide the ice cold water)
  • Sun block & SPF chap stick (It’s going to be hot!)

Additional items reminders for overnight campers:

  • IMPORTANT: A copy of the front & back of your Health Insurance card (Overnight campers without parents present).
  • Spending money (we recommend $100 to purchase items at camp and during night time activities).
  • Toiletries including powder and or spray to avoid sweat rashes.
  • Cell phone (overnight campers without parents present).

CHECK IN & CAMP CLOSURE DETAILS (Check dates and times closely):

Overnight camp participants will fly in on Monday, July 30th between 2:30-5:00. Once you have your flight itinerary, please email it to us at teamcoburn@thecatchingguy.com. If you are planning on attending the Camp Kickoff Hitting Clinic, please do everything you can to fly in between 12:00pm and 2:30pm and if you’re not attending the Hitting Clinic, you can fly in as late as 4:30. We will be conducting a Camp Orientation for all overnighters at 6:30 on Monday. Overnight campers who are not with parents will be picked up by a Gamer Baseball/The Catching Guy staff member.

We will send an email providing more details once we receive your registration (as we get closer to camp). Our goal is to have all overnight campers checked into the Sparks Nugget Casino and Resort between 2:00 – 4:00. We will conduct the overnight camper orientation at approximately 6:30 when we get back from the Hitting Clinic.

On Friday, August 3rd, we will provide lunch to all participants and for those needing to book a flight out, please plan on scheduling your flight out of Reno between 2:30-5:00 which will give us plenty of time to get your player cleaned up and to the airport.

Day Campers will check in at the Golden Eagle Regional Park at 7:30am on Tuesday the 31st and will be picked up from Golden Eagle at 11:00 on Friday the 3rd.
