I would like to give my input regarding your Super Camp from a parent’s perspective. What my son and I wanted from the camp was insightful instruction from experienced and knowledgeable former players to get him to the next level and you and your staff delivered.

Each day started off with pearls of wisdom from you. Then the drills were ran with precision and efficiency. Each coach did his best to give personal but straightforward instruction to each catcher. I managed to write down some of the best instructions. Some were nuanced where if you don’t pay attention you would miss it and it would be your loss.

When I picked the coaches brains they were glad to take the time and got down and showed me then explained their rationale for doing what they taught.  The afternoon classes (extra sessions) were priceless.

My son certainly absorbed a tremendous amount of valuable coaching from you and your staff. The full effect of your program will bear fruit months and years down the road provided he adheres to the training shown to him.

Thank you for your generosity in sharing your wisdom.

Please send your catcher with a lunch and snacks each day.  We will give several water/snack breaks during the on field training sessions and will have a lunch break immediately after the field session.

We recommend that your catcher eat a light lunch.  They will have the opportunity to have their stomach settle during the guest speaker/classroom session.  We will also have a couple pretty intense training sessions from 2:30-3:30.  We don’t want anyone to eat too much and feel ill during the training.

: What should I bring and wear to camp?

:  Make sure you bring or wear the following:

  • Baseball appropriate clothing including baseball pants. Shorts are NOT recommended.
  • *Each Catcher MUST have their own complete set of catchers gear including a protective cup.
  • Cleats or spikes AND turf or tennis shoes for the afternoon extra sessions.
  • Water bottle & snack.
: What time does check-in begin?

:  Please have your catcher to the field approximately 15-20 minutes prior to the start of camp on day one for check in (Day one only).  After that, Coach Todd and/or his staff typically arrive at least 30 minutes prior to camp.  We will start camp at 9:00am sharp each day.

: What time should I pick up my catcher?

:  Camp field sessions will conclude at 12:00 each day. Training will end around 11:50 and then Coach Todd will do one of his “Final Thought” talks until 12:00.  Parents are encouraged to be there for Coach Todd’s post camp talks.

: Can parents stick around and watch during the camp?

:  It is not only allowed, it is encouraged. We love to have the parents observe during our camps and clinics. You are welcome to observe from the bleachers during the drills and training. If we can help the parents to gain more knowledge about the position so they can reinforce and pass along the information to the catchers, we’re all for it! We just ask that you please stay in the bleachers or on the “side lines” and not come actually on the field or in the training area. We don’t want anyone to get hit by a ball. Thanks for your understanding.

: Why should my catcher attend this camp? What is The Catching Guy "difference?"

:  There is A LOT of information out there about the position of catcher.  Coach Todd is known for the ability to dissect the complex and present it in the simple. His ability to communicate the information in a manner that is relatable and understandable to catchers of all ages and experience levels is what sets him apart. Additionally, The Catching Guy events are not only designed to help develop the skills your catcher needs to succeed at the position, and in the game of baseball… there is also a large emphasis placed on building the confidence needed to succeed in the “game of life.”
